Senator McConnell sent me a response

Let me say that, when I originally sent this email to Senator McConnell I was quite irritated so this email was a bit of a mess. I wasn’t holding my breath on getting a response so I am a bit curious what they would say. He obviously doesn’t answer his own emails. He probably doesn’t look at them. All the same I sent one and I got a response. Here is my email in all its glory.

How can you stand by and allow Elon Musk, who has zero business touching anything in our government offices, walk into the Social Security systems and just set up shop with 6 very young adults. 18-25 year olds are messing in a system that people rely on to live. Let me be clear, when I see an 18 year old, a "Teenager", sitting in an office and has access to something that everyone else would need to have a high level of clearance to even be allowed to have partial of my info and they now have all of my personal information.

I have questions. I want answers.

Why is Elon Musk allowed to now treat Washington like his own personal playground?

Why does Musk need any of the Social Security information?

What is HE doing with it?

Should I be concerned for my safety? I am.

I am concerned for officials who had security details that they are no longer allowed to have. Security details are assigned for a reason.

-You’re ok with this?

-Are we purposely making them targets?

-You are letting Trump destroy the:

-FBI?

-FAA? (two crashes in 2 days)

-CIA?

-Why?

Will we get our Social Security check that we rely on every month?

What is going to happen to Tax refunds?

Why is Elon Musk allowed to close buildings and keep our governmental representatives out of place they have every right to be in?

USAID is important. We help save the lives of Children in Africa for one. I have met one of those saved children HERE in KY. They are the sweetest child and without our help that sweetness would have died far too soon.

Elon Musk should have never been allowed near any of this. Yet, I have heard the voices of democrats making noise to make this right. They are not wrong. Do I agree with everything they do? No, absolutely not. In this case I do. Where are the Republicans in all this?

I am scared and tired. Checks and balances, or is that no longer a thing?

Healthcare is a mess. RFK will make it impossible.

AND THEN

Rubio announced that El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele, the illiberal leader who has referred to himself as the “world’s coolest dictator,” had offered to receive people incarcerated in American prisons — undocumented people as well as American citizens — to El Salvador’s Terrorism Confinement Center. Americans??

Trump just suggested that displaced Palestinians in Gaza should be permanently resettled outside the Gaza territory and proposed the U.S. take “ownership” in redeveloping the area into “the Riviera of the Middle East”. A sitting Republican tweeted “Make Gaza the next Mar-a-lago.”

We have huge problems in the USA and we are screwing around with Netanyahu and saying we will rehome 1.8 million Palestinians? War is awful but this is not our problem, we need to take care of the USA.

This COUP/Hostile Takeover, and this takeover, is terrifying. The USA is falling into ruin.

My last question:

Which side of history are you going to be on?

Dear Mrs. Temple;

Thank you for contacting me regarding the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). I appreciate your taking the time to contact me, as hearing from you helps me better represent Kentucky in the United States Senate.

On January 20, 2025, President Trump signed Executive Order 14158, “Establishing and Implementing the President’s ‘Department of Government Efficiency’”, creating DOGE by restructuring and renaming the United States Digital Service. The goal of this new office is to reduce reckless government spending and to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse in the federal government. It is clear that the biggest fiscal problem America faces is unsustainable debt and spending, which only intensified under the Biden Administration. As our nation continues on a path of unsustainable debt, it is absolutely imperative that our government works to ensure every tax dollar is spent wisely.

While cutting wasteful spending is a vital step in reducing deficit, the constitutional process must also be respected. Our Founding Fathers set up a system of government to have checks and balances between the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches of government. In order to fund the government, Congress must pass twelve appropriations bills, each of which funds different agencies and departments. It is through this process that Congress controls the purse strings of the federal government. Please rest assured that I will use my position as a senior member of the Senate Appropriations Committee to ensure that every tax dollar is spent wisely, while at the same time advocating for Kentucky’s interests.

Each and every day, I work hard to earn your trust and fight for Kentucky in the United States Senate. As Congress continues to address the challenges facing our nation, I will remember your thoughts and concerns. Only with the input of active and informed citizens like yourself, can the United States Senate address the issues affecting our country. Rest assured, I will keep your thoughts in mind as the 119th Congress proceeds.
